Well our final full day in kiwi land has drawn to a close. It has been a very exausting day - both physically and emotionally. Spent most of the day in town doing last minute things. This evening we took the last of our things out of our house. I must admitt that I felt quite emotional seeing the house completely empty - it doesn't seem real.
This evenings challenge was to pack what seemed like, car loads of things, into our 8 suitcases. It was all too much for me so I had to call in 'back up' - Mom. She is the worlds best packer. We got it all in, with some room to spare - Thanks Mom.
During the evening, numerous family members dropped by to wish us well and give us a kiss and a hug. It was lovely to see them all and for them to take time out to come and say good bye. It was hard saying good bye. I must admitt that i am feeling emotionally drained. I have a feeling that tomorrow won't be any easier.........
Well it is almost 1am and I know 5am will come all to fast so I best be off to bed.
I am looking forward to the new chapter that is about to begin for our family - but I am also very sad, sad to be leaving behind so many near and dear family and friends........... aren't we lucky we have the internet to keep in touch.
If I don't get a chance to say farewell before we fly off into the wild blue yonder tomorrow, I will say it now - ta ta (for now).
Beloved family, God bless! Hugging you goodbye was one of the hardest things we've ever done. But good things are ahead of you all. All will be well. But Te Kauwhata will never be the same without you--we're going to have to move too! :o)
